SFIG Participates in Hill Briefing and Investor Conference on Equipment Finance

On Tuesday, March 21st, SFIG's Senior Director, Sairah Burki, led a technology roundtable hosted by the Urban Financial Services Coalition on Capitol Hill. Joining Ms. Burki on the roundtable was Will Black, a Managing Director at Moody’s Investors Service and Chair of the SFIG Marketplace Lending Committee as well as Val Srinivas, Research Leader at Deloitte and one of the authors of SFIG's "Applying blockchain in securitization" white paper.

The discussion focused on providing a broad understanding of how growth in marketplace lending and innovations around blockchain technology will shape the financial services industry. Specifically, the panelists addressed how developments in these areas could impact accessibility of services for the underbanked.

The following day, Ms. Burki participated on the "Political and Regulatory Landscape" panel at the Investor Conference on Equipment Finance. This panel explored the potential effects of the regulatory environment on equipment ABS volumes and executions and the recent election effects on market activity, among other changes.
