Senate Banking Hearing Focuses on Regulatory Reform

During Tuesday’s hearing of the Senate Banking Committee, American Banker reported that financial regulators sought to walk a fine line between reassuring Republican Senators that they are quickly implementing regulatory relief enacted by Congress and defending themselves against Democratic criticism that they are going too far, too fast. The committee heard the testimony of Federal Reserve Vice Chairman for Supervision Randal Quarles, Comptroller of the Currency Joseph Otting, FDIC Chairman Jelena McWilliams, and NCUA Chairman J. Mark McWatters.
