Senate Banking Committee Delays Hearing on GSE Pilot Oversight

According to an article published in Inside Mortgage Finance, the Senate Banking Committee has delayed its hearing on GSE oversight until after the midterm elections. Originally scheduled for Thursday, October 18, the hearing will now take place Wednesday, November 14. Testifying before the Committee will be Sandra Thompson, FHFA Deputy Director, Donald Layton, CEO of Freddie Mac, and Hugh Frater, Interim CEO of Fannie Mae. The hearing is expected to show why the FHFA has been approving new pilot programs while the two enterprises remain in conservatorship.
