October 6, 2017 Alert - Treasury Release: Financial Regulatory Reform Report

Moments ago the U.S. Department of the Treasury released its much anticipated capital markets regulatory reform report, titled "A Financial System That Creates Economic Opportunities Capital Markets".

The report to the President represents the second in a series that the Treasury Department plans to release. It stems from the President’s February 2017 Executive Order on “Core Principles for Regulating the U.S. Financial System” where the Secretary of the Treasury was to “identify any laws, treaties, regulations, guidance, reporting and record keeping requirements, and other Government policies that inhibit Federal regulation of the U.S. financial system in a manner consistent with the core principles.”

SFIG will review the report to identify the policy areas cited which have a direct (and indirect) impact on securitization and structured finance markets more generally.
