Loans not yet High Priority in Libor Alternative Talks

According to a recent article in the American Banker, loans have thus far been a secondary focus in discussions around finding workable alternatives to Libor.

The article explains that, to date, the Alternative Reference Rate Committee (ARRC), a group of private-market participants convened by the Federal Reserve, has been primarily concerned with derivatives. However, ARCC's Chair, Sandra O'Connor of JPMorgan Chase, argues that the group's focus on derivatives is by design. Additionally, she has explained that ARCC may turn its attention to loans in the coming months.

SFIG staff and Board leadership are engaged in discussions on the potential impacts of Libor no longer being reported and are identifying potential membership actions that should be taken.
