Structured Finance Industry Group, Inc. (“SFIG”) is a member-based, trade industry advocacy group focused on improving and strengthening the broader structured finance and securitization market. SFIG provides an inclusive network for securitization professionals to collaborate and, as industry leaders, drive necessary changes, be an advocate for the securitization community, share best practices and innovative ideas, and educate industry members through conferences and other programs. Members of SFIG represent all sectors of the securitization market including issuers, investors, financial intermediaries, law firms, accounting firms, technology firms, rating agencies, servicers, and trustees. Formed in March 2013, our institutional membership totals approximately 350 members, represented by a Board of Directors totaling 40 members selected from all membership constituencies. Additional leadership is provided by an executive committee, including Officers of the Board of Directors, select Board members and the Executive Director.

While the Membership of SFIG is geographically diverse, with a concentration in New York, the operational headquarters are based in Washington, D.C. – close to the majority of SFIG’s regulatory and legislative audiences.

To facilitate broad inclusion of its Membership, SFIG encourages its Members to assume an active role in SFIG advocacy efforts by joining member committees and task forces, which are designed to cover a wide variety of topics relevant to the securitization industry. Members drive the agenda of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting production of presentation materials for external meetings and other special projects
  • Collecting, analyzing and reporting data analysis integral to the development of advocacy materials, including Congressional analysis
  • Sourcing and collating securitization industry market data to support policy positions and presentations
  • Working cross-functionally with senior staff and SFIG members to develop and produce data-related content and digital stories for SFIG’s website and newsletter
  • Create, document, maintain, and oversee processes associated with membership database.  Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues with membership data, including the development of best practices
  • In conjunction with the Website & Marketing Content Senior Analyst, perform testing of new or enhanced database system functionality, and deliver continued effectiveness of its tools and services through the implementation of subsequent enhancements
  • Provide timely response to ad-hoc data queries

As a representative of the premier securitization trade organization, the successful candidate will interact with senior corporate officers of our member organizations and therefore be expected to have strong communication and writing skills, exemplify the organizations high professional standards, and still maintain a “roll your sleeves up” attitude in support of various operational needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

Professional & Educational Requirements

Professional experience/qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a market research or research analyst role
  • 2+ years working with data and analytics
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of business and technical requirements
  • Process analysis and documentation
  • Advanced understanding of MS Office Suite
  • Superior communication and writing skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills


An undergraduate degree is required, with a concentration in business, finance or economics preferred.
