General Overview


Structured Finance Industry Group, Inc. (“SFIG”) is a member-based, trade industry advocacy group focused on improving and strengthening the broader structured finance and securitization market. SFIG provides an inclusive network for securitization professionals to collaborate and, as industry leaders, drive necessary changes, be an advocate for the securitization community, share best practices and innovative ideas, and educate industry members through conferences and other programs. Members of SFIG represent all sectors of the securitization market including issuers, investors, financial intermediaries, law firms, accounting firms, technology firms, rating agencies, servicers, and trustees. Formed in March 2013, our institutional membership totals approximately 370 members, represented by a Board of Directors totaling 42 members selected from all membership constituencies. Additional leadership is provided by an executive committee, including Officers of the Board of Directors, select Board members and the Executive Director.

While the Membership of SFIG is geographically diverse, with a concentration in New York, the operational headquarters are based in Washington, DC – close to the majority of SFIG’s regulatory and legislative audiences.

To facilitate broad inclusion of its Membership, SFIG encourages its Members to assume an active role in SFIG advocacy efforts by joining member committees and task forces, which are designed to cover a wide variety of topics relevant to the securitization industry. Members drive the agenda of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities would include:

  • Providing proactive support for all marketing efforts, including responding to general events inquiries via phone and email, ordering conference promotional items, posting conference and events social media updates, managing all events inventory, arranging all travel logistics for the Events team,  coordinating all team meetings and conference calls (including the maintenance of any minutes), handling all aspects of shipping and receiving of conference supplies, and assisting with the design and execution of event signage and other marketing collateral such as ads, brochures, and onsite agendas
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of the organization’s multiple website platforms
  • Ensuring compliance with conference registration guidelines, including membership discounts where applicable

The successful candidate will be expected to have a “roll your sleeves up” attitude and support various additional operational needs of the broader platform.

Qualifications and Requirements

Professional & Educational Requirements

General Requirements:

  • Exemplary analytical, writing, verbal and interpersonal communications skills;
  • Ability to develop work plans, set deadlines, work well with minimal supervision, prioritize assignments, and organize multiple projects and duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, know when to act independently and when to consult for advice on decision-making;
  • A willingness to carry out a wide range of activities
  • Strong computer skills with familiarity with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, email clients, Internet research, event registration software, database systems, and social networking tools;
  • Flexibility with respect to schedule, working hours, travel, and work assignments, including ability to work overtime or on weekends when necessary.

Specific Requirements:

  • 1+ years’ experience in office administration, events management or a similar events-related role, preferably working in the financial services sector
  • Exceptional devotion to customer service
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Experience with Adobe Creative
  • Familiarity with Cvent and HTML a plus  


  • An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in Communications or a Finance-related area.
