Company Background and Culture:

Structured Finance Industry Group, Inc. (SFIG) is a member-based, trade industry advocacy group focused on improving and strengthening the broader structured finance and securitization market. SFIG provides an inclusive network for securitization professionals to collaborate and, as industry leaders, drive necessary changes, be an advocate for the securitization community, share best practices and innovative ideas, and educate industry members through conferences and other programs. Members of SFIG represent all sectors of the securitization market including issuers, investors, financial intermediaries, law firms, accounting firms, technology firms, rating agencies, servicers, and trustees. Formed in March 2013, our institutional membership totals approximately 370 members, represented by a Board of Directors totaling 42 members selected from all membership constituencies. Additional leadership is provided by an executive committee, including Officers of the Board of Directors, select Board members and the Executive Director.

While the Membership of SFIG is geographically diverse, with a concentration in New York, the operational headquarters are based in Washington, DC – close to the majority of SFIG’s regulatory and legislative audiences.

To facilitate broad inclusion of its Membership, SFIG encourages its Members to assume an active role in SFIG advocacy efforts by joining member committees and task forces, which are designed to cover a wide variety of topics relevant to the securitization industry. Members drive the agenda of the organization.



Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities would include:

  • Interacting with SFIG membership, industry constituents, and external vendors via telephone, email and in-person communications, and using good judgement to prioritize the distribution of messages in a timely manner
  • Coordinating meetings, conference calls and staff business travel arrangements as needed or anticipated
  • Collecting, processing and distributing incoming mail, as well as composing and sending correspondence for other office staff
  • Preparing and modifying documents, including correspondence, presentations, reports and memos
  • Keeping inventory of all office and kitchen supplies and placing orders for replenishment as needed in accordance with company purchasing policies and budget
  • Supervising maintenance of all office equipment, and driving resolution of all IT issues with Technical Support
  • Performing general clerical duties to include, but not limited to: printing, shipping, scanning, and filing
  • Maintaining team Outlook calendars in current and accurate status

The successful candidate will be expected to have a “roll your sleeves up” attitude and support various additional operational needs of the broader platform.


Qualifications and Requirements

Professional & Educational Requirements

General Requirements:

  • Exemplary analytical, writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision, prioritize assignments, and organize multiple projects and duties simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment without becoming overwhelmed
  • A willingness to carry out a wide range of activities
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and positive service attitude at all times
  • Strong computer skills and demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Effective office equipment skills (phone and voicemail systems, copiers, scanners, etc.), as well as a working knowledge of mail processes such as FedEx and UPS
  • A professional appearance and manner
  • An ability to lift small loads of approximately 15 – 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm

Education:

  • An undergraduate degree is required.
