General Overview

Company Background/Culture

Structured Finance Industry Group, Inc. (SFIG) is a member-based, trade industry advocacy group focused on improving and strengthening the broader structured finance and securitization market. SFIG provides an inclusive network for securitization professionals to collaborate and, as industry leaders, drive necessary changes, be an advocate for the securitization community, share best practices and innovative ideas, and educate industry members through conferences and other programs. Members of SFIG represent all sectors of the securitization market including issuers, investors, financial intermediaries, law firms, accounting firms, technology firms, rating agencies, servicers, and trustees. Further information can be found nd at www.sfindustry.org.

Formed in March 2013, our institutional membership totals approximately 350 members, represented by a Board of Directors totaling 40 members selected from all membership constituencies. Additional leadership is provided by an executive committee, including Officers of the Board of Directors, select Board members and the Executive Director.

While the Membership of SFIG is geographically diverse, with a concentration in New York, the operational headquarters are based in Washington, D.C. – close to the majority of SFIG’s regulatory and legislative audiences.

SFIG’s culture is one of broad inclusion. SFIG prides itself in ensuring that it represents all aspects of the structured finance industry and extensive governance exists to ensure strict adherence to this principle.

To facilitate broad inclusion of its Membership, SFIG encourages its Members to assume an active role in SFIG advocacy efforts by joining member committees and task forces, which are designed to cover a wide variety of topics relevant to the securitization industry. Members drive the agenda of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

 Responsibilities would include:

  • Working with SFIG’s management team to establish conference and event agendas reflective of the industry needs and aligned with SFIG’s overall strategic goals and educational mission.
  • Expanding the SFIG symposia to include additional subject matter beyond “planned advocacy.” This may include advanced skillset development, introductory learning sessions, and ad-hoc hot topics.
  • In conjunction with the Digital Media and Marketing Manager, developing and implementing a new online learning portal that provides a comprehensive educational platform covering all aspects of securitization.
  • Publishing conference content for member download via audio files and web-casts.
  • Developing new webinar and online video content.
  • Expanding range of Women in Securitization (‘WiS”) educational product and working with events coordinators to enable delivery.
  • Expand range of educational product offerings, including young professionals and diversity initiatives.
  • Developing quarterly “SFIG Journal” and supporting development of other SFIG physical products such as whitepapers and industry books.

As a representative of the premier securitization trade organization, the successful candidate will interact with senior corporate officers of our member organizations and therefore be expected to have strong communication and writing skills, exemplify the organization’s high professional standards, and still maintain a “roll your sleeves up” attitude in order to support various operational needs.
