SFIG Spring Symposium

On Thursday, May 5th, nearly 100 structured finance professionals joined SFIG at Moody's downtown New York offices for our Spring Symposium for a review of President Trump's First 100 Days in Office.

During the evening's first session, Tom McCrocklin, SFIG's Head of Government Relations, led a discussion with industry public affairs leaders, Libby Cantrill (PIMCO), Kathyanne Cohen (Moody's), and Josh Wilsusen (Morgan Stanley). Panelists engaged in a lively and informative conversation, covering topics ranging from Trump's transition and the Republican majority in Congress, to the politics of Capitol Hill and Dodd-Frank reform efforts.

In the second session of the night, SFIG Vice Chairman Howard Kaplan (Deloitte) led a discussion with SFIG's Dan Goodwin and Sairah Burki in a review of SFIG's advocacy approach during the first 100 days, providing insights into their meetings with regulators and legislators. The conversation centered on SFIG's advocacy work across a variety of issues, including capital and liquidity requirements, disclosure, risk retention, and GSE reform.
