Reed D. Auerbach is the Global Head of the Structured Transactions Practice of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. Reed represents a broad range of financial institutions, investment funds, and issuers in the development of innovative structured finance vehicles as well as in the acquisition and disposition of financial assets and origination and servicing platforms.
Reed advises underwriters and issuers in connection with public and private offerings of asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities involving a wide variety of assets, collateralized loan obligations and related interim warehouse financings, asset-backed commercial paper conduits, whole loan purchases, repurchase agreements, derivative transactions and residual financings. His securitization experience includes marketplace loans; student loans; prime and nonprime auto loans; auto leases; dealer floorplan receivables; equipment leases; non-performing, re-performing, and performing mortgage loans; servicing rights; unsecured consumer and commercial loans; commercial real estate loans; handset receivables; credit card receivables; among others.
Reed received his Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law and Bachelor of Arts from Franklin and Marshall College. He sits on the editorial board of The Journal of Structured Finance, and he co-authored one of the industry’s primary treatises Offerings of Asset-Backed Securities, published by Wolters Kluwer Publishers.
