Chelsea brings six years of event experience to her Event Manager role, most recently with the USO, Inc., a military service organization. Before that she has done events in a variety of industries such as hotels with Marriott International, non-profits with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) and government with Palladian Partners, Inc.
Chelsea worked as the Special Events Planner at the USO, Inc. as part of an events team of three. She worked with various USO centers to deliver events on military bases all over the world to service members and their families. She also planned and executed, along with her events team, three successful USO Gala’s in Washington, D.C. with upwards of 1,000 guests each, including senior level military and various celebrity entertainers. While on the USO Development Team she reported directly to the Chief Development Officer and worked on three successful donor cultivation events in Los Angeles, CA, Dallas, TX, and Boston, MA that included Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Former Secretary Robert Gates and General George Casey, USA (Ret.).
Before joining the USO, Inc., Chelsea worked with Marriott International at Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center on the Sales Team booking conferences from 100 – 10,000 attendees. Her Senior Sales Executive won Sales Person of the year while she was there for the entire Marriott Brand. She then moved to IAVA and served as Office Manager/Executive Assistant to the Chief Policy Officer in the Washington D.C. headquarters. Her team frequently testified on the hill, coordinated press conferences all over the city, and hosted receptions for veterans serving in Congress. Chelsea worked on two success Gala’s while at IAVA; both in New York City. She most notable worked on a press conference with IAVA that brought together over twelve of the largest Veterans Service Organizations during the Government shutdown of 2013 at the World War II Memorial. From there, Chelsea moved to Palladian Partners, Inc. where she worked as a meeting planner serving National Institutes of Health. Here she planned symposiums, large scale conferences, and board of director’s meetings. These ranged in size from 10 – 5,000 attendees. She specifically worked with Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute on Child Health and Human Development; the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute; and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
In her spare time, she works as a cruise director on a charter boat in Old Town, Alexandria. She loves checking out new workout classes all over town and cooking a variety of recipes. She recently started making her own pasta.
